ঢাকা মুসলিম সাহিত্য সমাজের মুখপাত্র হিসেবে ১৯২৭ সালে আবুল হোসেনের সম্পাদনায় "শিখা" পত্রিকা প্রকাশিত হয়।
জ্ঞান যেখানে সীমাবদ্ধ, বুদ্ধি সেখানে আড়ষ্ট, মুক্তি সেখানে অসম্ভব - শিখ পত্রিকার প্রতি পাতায় কথাটি লেখা থাকত।
